Mission / Purpose

The purposes of the Society are:

1. To educate and encourage members and the general public in the art and practice of genealogical research.

2. To acquire a collection of genealogical and historical materials for a genealogical library available to members and the general public.

3. To collect, preserve and publish genealogical and historical materials relating to the Missouri Ozarks region.

4. To maintain and elevate genealogical standards.
 
OGS is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is supported solely through membership dues and donations.

Meeting & Workshop Info

Night program: First Monday of each month, 7 - 8 p.m. at the OGS Library, 534 West Catalpa, Springfield, MO
 
Day program: Third Wednesday of each month, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at The Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO
 
Annual Business Meeting: Scheduled each November.
 
All regular OGS meetings and programs are free and open to the public. Members may attend by Zoom.
Members receive an email with the Zoom link. Some past programs can be viewed at https://facebook.com/ozarksgs.  Go to the "Videos" shown on the left of the page.  No registration required.
